The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions is proud to host a Hygiene & Toiletry Drive to benefit Be A Resource (BEAR). BEAR is an important resource for children that are being removed from unsafe conditions and need basic essentials like clothes, hygiene products, diapers, infant equipment and so much more. They are amazing advocates for our city’s most vulnerable residents – children in unsafe homes and environments.
Over the spring and summer, Houston has been hit with storms and BEAR’s supplies have been depleted. HCCU wants to help build their supplies back up. As of now, their BEAR Necessities are toiletry and hygiene products. Items we are collecting with this drive include:
- 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner
- bars of soap
- individual toothbrushes and toothpaste
- deodorant
- baby wash
- baby lotion
- baby powder
- diaper rash ointment
- lice shampoo
- hair ties
- hairbrush/comb
- feminine hygiene products (pads and tampons)
One way we are collecting donations is at our upcoming volleyball tournament on August 17th. If your credit union or business can’t attend the tournament, you can reach out to anyone on our team so we can coordinate picking up donations from your location.
